Cats with Jobs, vol. 1

Story and art by Pandania

Seven Seas Entertainment, published 6/17/25

Age rating: Ages 10+

PANDANIA is back with a new (mew?) series, and this one is just as adorable and hilarious as their previous works.

This time, we are blessed with Cats With Jobs, which explores the idea of cats having, well, a job just like a human.

I will admit that while I was reading this manga, I had my beloved cats in mind. I have one retiree (she earned it), one Instagram model, one emotional support animal (she deserves a raise), an adventurer who likes to climb the highest heights, which is currently my nine-foot tall bookshelf… and then there’s Georgie who likes to break things he’s never paid for.

Never a dull moment in this reviewer’s household, but I digress.

So as I went through Cats With Jobs, I found myself amused by the variety of jobs featured in this over 130 page volume. Ranging from chef, private detective, to even a ninja and pro wrestler, PANDANIA leaves no stone unturned, which makes me wonder what else could be featured in volume two! In addition, the cat puns are just purrfect (I’ll show myself out). There is a panel that features working at a Live Music Venue (page 9).

All is well, unless you wear all black.

If you’re a cat owner, you’ll get it.

And since when is being a magical girl a job? Am I in the wrong line of work?! Did we witness a subtle crossover with Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc.?

Beautifully done in full color and the style that makes the reader know it’s none other than PANDANIA, this book makes me look forward to what other cat ideas that one of our favorite mangakas has in store for us. And as a special treat, I reviewed a copy that had free colorful stickers in the back. That’s an added plus for those who pick up a copy.

As for my unemployed darling Georgie, maybe he can be a pro wrestler. He does like to break things, and has a favorite wrestler (dead serious, he actually does).

Anyone willing to train him?
