Teppeki Honeymoon, vol. 1
Story and art by Meca Tanaka
One Peace Books, published 7/8/25
Age rating: Teen
In a tale as old as time, a chosen one finds themselves pulling a sword out of a stone to save their land.
In this case, an unsuspecting girl pulls a sword out of a publicity stunt and finds herself engaged to an heir of a security company.
Stay with me on this, because what happens next is a rollercoaster that only a shojo manga could provide.
Ena is a highschooler who helps her father make ends meet by making food deliveries and taking care of her two younger brothers. She is known for her super strength and is even nicknamed “Tank.” When she tries to help pull out a sword for two other girls, not realizing it is part of a display called” Cinderella Excalibur” (that should’ve been a hint, but alas), Ena finds herself whisked away to the office of a security company. There she is hired to become the fiancee of Sakae Kugo, a bodyguard and heir of said security company. Sakae has no desire to get married or fall in love, and Ena is still in high school. Despite the age difference (she’s 18, he’s 25), Sakae’s father offers to cover all of Ena’s debts if she agrees to marry Sakae.
Sakae offers Ena a different kind of deal: pretend to be his fiancee for two months, get him to fall in love with her, and he’ll pay off her debts without the marriage.

Teppeki Honeymoon is s a cute shojo despite the questionable age dynamic. The comedy is very adorable as they try to fight the obvious feelings they develop throughout the story. There’s even a part where Ena thinks Sakae has a girlfriend, due to seeing a woman’s belongings in his apartment. A pang of jealousy hits until she discovers the woman’s belongings are actually his, and it’s part of his job as a bodyguard.
Let’s just say Sakae is a master of disguise. It was a pretty funny chapter, with a lot of hilarious misunderstandings. The story throughout has misunderstandings galore, but it’s enough to see if this couple will actually walk down the aisle, or keep the charade up long enough so Ena and her family will not have to worry about their future.
While the “will they, won’t they” aspect of Teppeki Honeymoon tends to feel a bit rushed at some points, it’s an adorable story with a lot of hilarity to keep the reader invested.
