But when his family’s fishing business starts to suffer, he is certain that learning magic is the best way to help his family and community. He meets Doris, a grumpy old witch, and is determined to become her apprentice. As he enters the world of magic, he becomes caught up in the rules and schemes of a whole new society and is surrounded by magical creatures in need of protection. Yelp! Yeti Chaos In Kathmandu GN – Flying Eye Books releases a new adventure for early graphic novel readers. There is a Yeti living amongst the people of Kathmandu in Nepal, but no one knows it except 10-year-old Dev and his pet cat Tuna. No one believes the mess and chaos is created by the mythical beast. Dev and Tuna get the blame for that instead. Determined to prove his innocence, and keep his summer from being ruined, Dev turns to his kooky friend Joon for spiritual help. When that doesn’t work, he turns hunter and traps the Yeti. But it turns out to be a harmless creature in need of his help. Managing to communicate with the kind creature, Dev and Tuna agree to help him find a way back home to the mountains. In order to get him to Everest Base Camp, he will need to fly out of the most dangerous airport in the world, sporting a very creative disguise. Elementary school readers will enjoy this fast paced story with plenty of twists.
